This is an opportunity for a first- class operations professional to join Lancaster’s Faculty of Science and Technology. The appointee will work with the Executive Dean to provide high level strategic and operational management and development of the Faculty. This is a demanding role with responsibilities encompassing organisational excellence, academic administration, governance and planning, and policy development and implementation. The post-holder will lead a high-performing Faculty team and work with professional services colleagues across the full range of central university administrative functions and academic and professional services staff in the Faculty’s seven departments.

Applicants will have excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, a demonstrable ability to work effectively across multiple teams and first-class analytical and problem-solving skills. They will have appropriate experience of senior administrative or managerial roles in a complex organisation. They may be already work in an academic institution or have relevant experience drawn from other parts of the economy. An aptitude and willingness to contribute leadership to the operational excellence and strategic development of the Faculty is vital, as is enthusiasm for planning and administration within an academic environment.
