We’re looking to appoint a highly experienced generalist HR practitioner to lead the University's Employee Relations and HR Business Partnering Team, responsible for the delivery of a high quality, professional and responsive HR service that supports the University in achieving its strategic aims. The post holder will line manage a team of five HR Business Partners, delivering the full range of employee relations issues including disciplinary, performance improvement, conflict resolution, restructuring and other organisation change projects.
The Head of ER & HR BPs will lead on complex case management, policy design and development, and developing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, trade unions and other service providers. Reporting to the Deputy HR Director, and working together with senior HR colleagues, the successful candidate will support the leadership and management of the HR strategy and play an important role in ensuring the success of the HR department.
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Member of the CIPD or higher, with a demonstrable wealth of experience of working in complex, multi-disciplinary organisations and dealing with complex casework. The post holder will need to have experience of working in partnership with senior leaders and decision makers, with the ability to build effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of Employment Tribunal procedures, and experience of working with legal professionals to manage ET claims through to conclusion.
This role is currently offered on a blended-working basis with the opportunity for remote working approximately two days per week.

From 1 August 2023, the salary range for this role will increase to £56,021 - £64,914, with the opportunity to progress to £68,857.
