About the Role
The School of Business and Management, in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, is inviting applications for the role of School Manager.
This post is a part of the School Leadership team providing strategic and operational direction for a successful and expanding School that currently has over 130 academics and around 40 professional services staff. The role holder will have a particular focus on ensuring the administrative and technical infrastructure and services within the school are effective and respond appropriately to strategic and operational challenges to continue the high level of support for research, teaching, and administrative activities within the school. They will also take a leading role in supporting and enabling the School and the Faculty to meet their strategic aims.

You will have experience of managing a large team, financial management and budgetary control, workforce planning and a well-developed knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education environment. About the School
The school is the largest within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which comprises eight Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the faculty. The school has recently achieved AACBS accreditation and has an ambitious plan for growing its reputation and impact. Planning permission has been secured to build a new home for the School on the Mile End campus and the school manager will play a key role in this project, working closely with Estates. The School and Faculty have a wide range of key interactions with partner organizations, including with overseas partners, Government departments, research and education networks, funders, and regulators. The role sits within the Professional Services job family and the role holder is expected to be an active part of the University’s support staff family, working with academic colleagues across a wide range of responsibilities to help deliver its academic mission.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London on a full-time basis. The starting salary will be Grade 7, in the range of £60,128 to £67,139 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
