We wish to appoint a Lecturer to undertake research of international excellence in Black British and/or Diasporic Literature, contribute to knowledge exchange activities relative to the discipline (e.g. with the Beniba Centre for Slavery Studies), contribute to learning and teaching in English Literature, and undertake administration and service activities in line with the School/College’s strategic objectives. We welcome candidates working in any relevant time-period and geographic subfield of Black British and/or Diasporic Literature. We particularly encourage candidates with research interests in one or more of the following fields: Critical Race Theory, Black and/or Diasporic Cultural Studies, Black and/or Diasporic Geographies, Black and/or Diasporic Feminist Theory, Queer Studies, and Sound/Film/Media Studies.

The postholder (Grade 8) will develop, lead, and sustain research of international excellence in Black British and/or Diasporic Literature, contribute to knowledge exchange activities relating to the discipline, contribute to learning and teaching in English Literature and elsewhere in the School/College (e.g. with the Beniba Centre for Slavery Studies), and undertake administration and service activities in line with the School/College’s strategic objectives.
