The Opportunity:

At Arden University, we pride ourselves on being true innovators, disruptors and pioneers. Our focus is to promote life-long learning and ensure that everyone, everywhere can access higher education.

Following a period of continued growth at Arden University, the Institute of Foundation Studies positioned in the Faculty of Business wishes to appoint Lecturers to expand the foundation team. Our structure in the Institute of Foundation Studies consists of the Director, Principal Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, Assistant Lecturers, and Associate Lecturers. We work to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of our Foundation Year programmes in accordance with university strategy, policies, and procedures with excellent student outcomes. This is an exciting time to join the Institute of Foundation Studies - we are continually improving the student experience, launching a new programme and curriculum in September 2023.

About You:

We would like to hear from you if you are innovative in your approach and look to contribute to the development and delivery of our programme. Your focus as a Lecturer of our Foundation Year will be to design engaging teaching materials, ensuring content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives, quality assessment marking processes and a super-supportive nature with our students.

As a student-focused educator, you engage your foundation year students, bringing their learning to life using active teaching and learning techniques. You will have an excellent understanding of the support needs of foundation year students, offering effective pastoral and out-of-class academic guidance.

Based in one of our study centres, you will be prepared to work flexibly, teaching both face to face in the daytime and evening (at times), when needed. You will have excellent subject knowledge, but will be adaptable/thriving when teaching across a range of multidisciplinary subject and academic skills modules.

You will be a positive role model to your peers and students: the Lecturer role represents the University and its values, promoting the Institute and Foundation Year at external and internal events. This role will report to a Senior Lecturer/or Principal Lecturer from the Institute of Foundation Studies.
