This role will be based at the company partner’s premises in Wakefield, Yorkshire 

Hydraulic System Products (HSP) in partnership with the University of Bath is looking for a talented engineer in the field of hydraulic fluid power, modelling and simulation, for development of market-leading products. The aim of this project is to develop and embed novel advanced engineering modelling tools for designing high performance hydraulic products and tailoring them to customers' specific needs.

This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project will bring together an exciting combination of expertise in hydraulic components and advanced modelling of fluid systems working alongside academics from one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities. Whilst working on this project as a KTP Associate, you will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain marketable skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and be supported by both industrial and academic mentors. You will be responsible for engaging with and embedding new knowledge within both the business partner and the University.

Hydraulic System Products Limited has 50 years of expertise as an innovative UK designer and manufacturer of hydraulic test equipment, valves and niche control components for fluid power systems used in a wide range of industrial sectors. https://h-s-p.co.uk/

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics or a related field;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • A strong understanding and experience of dynamic and fluid system modelling and simulation;
  • Experience in hydraulic fluid power or other fluid systems;
  • Good communication and organisation skills. The Associate is expected to play a key role in coordinating the stakeholders involved in this project.
