The Department has developed two 4-year Graduate (GA) and one Degree Apprenticeship (DA) programmes in IT: Software Development (ITSD), IT: Management for Business, and Digital and Technology Solutions which are designed for learners employed full-time within a software development/IT in Business role in industry. These degrees are mostly delivered online but with regular on-campus or online synchronous activities.
We wish to appoint a Teaching Associate to play a central role in the delivery and design of the programme. You should have a good knowledge of software development as you will be expected to design and develop course materials with guidance from other colleagues, and also teach on the GA/DA degrees. Knowledge of current practices/frameworks/tools used as part of software development within industry is desirable. You will also be expected to develop an understanding of good pedagogic practice with regard to online and face-to-face teaching.
You will normally be expected to have a good Honours degree and PhD in a relevant area or equivalent professional experience, to enable you to contribute to the delivery of the GA/DA programmes and provide student support. You will be expected to develop your knowledge of appropriate teaching methods and work towards eligibility for membership of the Higher Education Academy. Applicants who are seeking a part-time position may also be considered. The post is an open-ended contract.
The University of Strathclyde has an established Teaching Career pathway which will give you the opportunity for career development and promotion.
