About the role
The Academic Quality and Standards Officer supports programme and module approval, monitoring and review. The role underpins support mechanisms for academic standards and quality assurance within each faculty, with a view to identifying issues that might have a wider impact for Queen Mary. The post holder works collaboratively with colleagues across the institution.
About you
You have experience of quality assurance in an education setting, ideally in higher education, and knowledge of current sector issues and the regulatory environment. You have experience of the management, development and implementation of policies and procedures in teaching and learning. You have experience of committee work at senior level, with the ability to manage and deliver complex agendas while working to tight deadlines. You have proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to write cogently and fluently.
About the Directorate
Governance and Legal Services comprises expert teams in governance, compliance, policy, casework and legal, working with a common purpose to protect the University’s interests whilst enabling innovation and the achievement of the University’s objectives. The Directorate works collaboratively across the university community to develop awareness of university policy and regulations, legal issues and external compliance.

The post is based at Department W in Whitechapel, London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £42,405 - £49,785 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
