The UCLan Policy Forum provides a gateway to analytical services, local insight, specialist expertise and research-based evidence to address strategic priorities affecting the health, wellbeing and local economies of communities across the north west of England.
The Forum will support the demand for effective, integrated and evidence-informed policies to address structural weaknesses and emerging challenges across the north west of England, and to ensure a fairer deal for the region through ongoing national initiatives, including HMG’s Build Back Better and Levelling Up proposals.
To support the development of the Policy Unit we are recruiting to the following full-time (1.0 FTE) roles:
Research Associate in Applied Data Science – harnessing publicly available datasets to inform policy and practice;
Research Associate in Consultation and Engagement Science – engaging with local communities and key stakeholders to identify and address their strategic priorities;
Senior Research Assistant – collating, evaluating and synthesising local expertise and insight to generate evidence-based needs assessments.
To support these roles in engaging with local, regional, national and international priorities we are also recruiting to
4 x Policy Fellows (0.2FTE) – leading project development, implementation and impact.
The above roles offer a unique opportunity for candidates with the experience, expertise and commitment to work collaboratively across sectors to the health, wellbeing and local economies of communities across the north west of England.
For the Research Associate in Consultation and Engagement Science, we are looking for an individual who has a PhD or equivalent in an applied arts, humanities or social science discipline relevant to consultation and engagement science (including, for example: psychology, political science, or development studies) or equivalent expertise through equivalent experiential learning. They individual will have Practical experience in sourcing, developing and applying solutions to the challenges facing recruitment, retention and engagement of experts-by-experience panels. They will have an established track record of completed projects, research reports and peer reviewed publications. Excellent organisational planning and time management skills are a must as as effective communication and interpersonal skills for securing developing and maintaining internal and external collaborations and partnerships.
