Student Administration and Academic Affairs (SA&AA) is one of the largest Professional Services departments in the University, comprising a diverse range of teams who share the same passion for enhancing our students' experiences and supporting their well-being.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Administrative Officer for our busy Administration and Assessment Team at Winchester School of Art. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes a contributory pension scheme, a generous holiday allowance which increases with the length of service and a range of other benefits. This post will be based at Winchester School of Art.
The Administration and Assessment Team act as a first point of contact for educational matters and supports aspects of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught student lifecycle from induction through to graduation, including maintenance of student records and support for all assessment-related processes.
You will work closely with the Team Leader, the Deputy Head of School (Education), the Directors of Programmes and other key academic staff, as well as colleagues across Student Administration and Academic Affairs and the wider University, to ensure effective and professional support for all aspects of the team’s activities.
You will be an excellent team player with a proven ability to work proactively and with strong attention to detail. You will be able to plan and prioritise your own short- and medium-term work activities and use your initiative and judgement to resolve problems. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are required, as is a commitment to providing an excellent service. You will have the ability to adapt to change quickly, maintain receptiveness to new ideas and approaches and take an active role in identifying potential improvements in existing processes.
As a university, we aim to create an inclusive environment that attracts, supports and retains the best students and staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences from across the world. We are proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a working environment in which you are free to bring your whole self to work.
We want to build a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you are excited about this opportunity but don’t align perfectly with the person specification, we strongly encourage you to apply or get in touch to discuss further.
Committed to supporting our staff and students, we are open to a flexible working approach. We consider applicants who have taken a career break.
