The Department of Geography (www.sheffield.ac.uk/geography) at the University of Sheffield has particular expertise in the fields of social justice and environmental change. You should be able to demonstrate an excellent research trajectory in Cultural Geography, particularly with a focus on cultural geographies of homelessness and refugees. We welcome applications from candidates who have evidence of collaborative working, university-level teaching and who can enhance our research performance within the Department of Geography.
You will be expected to lead, develop, and teach a diverse cohort of students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the provision of high-quality and sustainable international field class to Berlin. You will be required to demonstrate innovation and enhancement in all areas of learning and teaching (as detailed in the University’s Academic Careers Pathways document).
It is intended that you will contribute to our UG and PGT programmes in Geography in our Cultural Geography modules of GEO31013 - Creative geographies: media, imaginaries and politics, GEO21017 - Urban culture and conflict: The making of modern cities , GEO114 - Exploring Human Geographies, GEO21015 - Culture, Space and Difference, GEO21020 - Research Design and Fieldclass to Berlin, and UG and PGT dissertation supervision. We also teach across a variety of methodologies, including, qualitative, quantitative, participatory, creative, ethnography etc. We team teach all our modules.
