Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.
Liverpool Business School is seeking to appoint to the role of Head of Postgraduate Studies and Collaborative Partnerships. You will be expected to work closely with the programme leaders for postgraduate programmes and collaborative partnership provision and lead on the standardisation of quality assurance and enhancement processes across this area to help ensure that the School aims of AACSB accreditation and TEF Gold are achieved. You will be required to demonstrate a track record and commitment to enhancing the students experience; delivering initiatives that aid retention and continuation, student engagement and development of cohort identity, as well as having a strong research profile within relevant subject areas.
The direction of management education is dynamic in terms of market demand, subject specialism, mode of delivery, pedagogy, etc., and the portfolio of programmes offered within and beyond the School will therefore need to respond to such changes. You will need to have an excellent understanding of the HE climate, particularly in relation to the regulatory and funding environment for postgraduate study for both home and international students as well as the ability to respond to challenges and opportunities in a local, national and international context.
The post of Head of Postgraduate Studies and Collaborative Partnerships within the Liverpool Business School involves working closely with the Director of School, and other School Subject Heads to contribute to the development of and operationalisation of change, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning, quality and/or research strategy.
If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Adam Shore, Director of Liverpool Business School at A.P.Shore@ljmu.ac.uk
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.
This is an exciting time to join LJMU in our bicentenary year and with the launch of our new strategic plan.
If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
