Applications are invited for the Head of Pre-Award post, based in Research Operations within Research & Innovation, and reports directly to the Director of Research & Innovation Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established team who play a critical role in supporting the University’s research ambitions, ensuring the effective and efficient submission of quality research applications and the set-up of new research awards.
This role requires a strategic leader with excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills as well as a strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellent service delivery. To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience of financial and risk management and will identify and implement best practice to ensure that the service continues to evolve in line with the external landscape.
Working in partnership with key stakeholders across the University, the Head of Pre-Award will develop strategies for project costing and effective risk management to help maximise research income but also enable decisive action at time-critical stages of the research project lifecycle. The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
