The Role:

The Blended Learning Service works collaboratively across the University with academics and professional staff in support of teaching, learning, and assessment to further institutional developments in digital and blended learning. Further engagement with students and relevant groups within the institution is vital to provide effective and relevant learning design, technological, and pedagogical guidance.

The Blended Learning Policy and Regulatory Specialist will be responsible for synthesising internal and external sources of compliance and policy to produce relevant and effective guidance for members of the University in implementing, monitoring and maintaining excellence in digital and blended learning.

The purpose of the role is to analyse, synthesise, and communicate sector wide perspectives on digital and blended learning and utilise this knowledge, in collaboration with existing internal processes or policies and our ongoing research and development projects, to produce clear guidance for academic and professional support staff.

Engaging with a wide variety of staff to ensure effective compliance, high quality development of blended teaching, learning, and assessment, and up to date and relevant staff development opportunities.

The team will be based in Education Services but will be required to work closely with Schools, Faculties, Departments, Colleges, senior stakeholders, and various committees and working groups as required.

We invite applications from individuals who have:

  • Qualifications to at least first-degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Experience of pro-active committee servicing, including the drafting of policy papers
  • Demonstrable experience in analysing and presenting data and other management information to assist in policy development
  • Ability to communicate with staff and students, including staff at the most senior level, in a confident, collegial and consensual manner
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both specialists and those with no knowledge of the subject matter
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to co-ordinate a range of complex, concurrent activities
