The University of Sheffield delivers life-enhancing research, innovation and education - come and join one of the teams that makes that possible. In IT Services, we’re dedicated to providing excellent IT systems, services and infrastructure to meet the needs of our students and colleagues. Our world is dynamic and so are we. We work closely with everyone who uses IT at the University, to make sure it works for them, so they can focus on improving themselves and the world around us. So if you want to support the next generations of students, leaders and researchers, we want you on our team.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of safety, health and welfare.
Reporting to the Business Support Manager and working with the Head of Department (HoD) and senior colleagues, you will provide expert advice on Health and Safety matters and will promote, oversee and monitor the implementation of University Health and Safety policies across IT Services.
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in protecting our employees from harm and ensuring that our workplace is a safe and healthy place to work. You will be a key member of our team, and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our employees.
We are seeking candidates with a recognised NEBOSH Safety qualification, as well as significant experience in a H&S related role. As this role involves working across the department to develop and maintain a positive health and safety culture, you will also need strong leadership and influencing skills.
What we offer
We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
