Programme Leader in Computing X2

Location: One in London, and one in Leicester or Northampton 

Purpose of the Role

Elizabeth School of London (ESL), an undergraduate programme institution with strong UK university partnerships, seeks two qualified Programme Leaders. Reporting to an Academic Manager, you'll coordinate Computing programmes, emphasizing expertise in Computing at university and HE levels.

Your primary location is our Canary Wharf campus, with occasional days at our Holborn campus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate academic matters for the assigned partner university, focusing on Computing courses
  • Monitor and report on teaching quality, emphasizing deep understanding at university and HE levels
  • Develop and maintain academic calendars, aware of Computing programme timelines
  • Coordinate lecturers’ timetables across campuses, especially for Computing modules
  • Liaise with ESL’s examinations team for meticulous coordination of Computing assessments
  • Collaborate with the Academic Partnership team for consistent communication on Computing programme development
  • Effectively communicate academic matters with partner university staff
  • Skillfully manage Academic Administrators, emphasizing Computing programmes
  • Align with the strategic direction, emphasizing advancement of Computing courses
  • Uphold knowledge of partner university policies in Computing programme delivery
  • Participate in regular meetings with partner university staff, Board of Studies meetings, and PAB/MAB meetings
  • Travel occasionally (reimbursed) to ESL’s campuses, focusing on Computing programme development
  • Instill an ethos of academic excellence within the Academic department, emphasizing Computing education
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners for Computing internships, lectures, and collaborative projects
  • Provide robust academic and pastoral support to Computing students
  • Elevate student engagement and satisfaction with the Computing programme
  • Address student feedback, actively working towards continuous improvement of the Computing student experience
  • Maintain meticulous records of academic operational matters related to Computing, subject to periodic audits
  • Undertake other occasional duties
  • Lecture in Business & Management or Computing (maximum 6 hours per week)

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field from a UK-style university, demonstrating specialized knowledge in Computing
  • Excellent command of English, or IELTS certification at 8 or above
  • Extensive lecturing/teaching experience at a UK HE or FE institution, specifically in Computing
  • Right to work in the UK or British citizenship
