Do you want to build your career in innovation management, helping to make a real difference to the world?

The Innovation Development Team supports the University's hundreds of research and innovation experts to drive positive change in areas like healthcare, the environment, the economy, and communities. We connect our researchers with organisations looking for new solutions, help them come to agreement about collaborative innovation projects, and navigate them through the funding landscape. The work is diverse and rewarding: it involves a mixture of business development, market analysis, costing and checking details in bids and tenders, communications, and partnership management.

This is a new and permanent role in a successful university-wide Innovation Development team, supporting the University's Research Strategy. The university has clear ambitions to continue to grow the volume and the quality of its research and innovation activities. You will be expected to develop and maintain a good understanding of the UK funding landscape for innovation, and to become a trusted advisor to our academic colleagues.

Who is our ideal candidate?

  • Strong organisational skills, interpersonal skills, numeracy, and attention to detail.
  • Results-focussed and adaptable to a variety of environments.
  • Knowledge of partnership working or providing excellent customer service.
  • Preferably, knowledge of key funders of innovation such as Innovate UK.

Interested? Look at the job description (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button) for more detail and go to the university's job portal to apply. Along with your CV please include a covering letter setting out why you and this role are a good match.
