About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Technician to join our Department of Computer Science and act as a key member of the IT Technicians team. You will provide proactive core technical support, maintain the reliability of our systems for staff and students and ensure excellent availability of computer laboratories for lab-based teaching. Playing an integral role in developing and implementing Technology Enhanced Learning initiatives you will work closely with academic and research colleagues, provide proactive classroom learning support and facilitate demonstration of hardware and software packages to students. 

With the fast pace of technology advancement, you will have the opportunity to work with and receive training on the latest IT infrastructure in this role.

About You

As IT Technician, you will:

  • Have good communication and team working skills
  • Have experience of technical support of PC hardware and software in a networked PC environment
  • Be familiar with a range of software such as IDEs, operating systems and security tools
  • Have experience of network installation, configuration and administration
  • Be keen to learn about new technologies
  • Have effective customer care skills and experience working with students, academics and/or customers
  • Have effective attention to detail and a proactive ‘can do’ approach to resolving IT issues promptly and smoothly.
