We are seeking an ambitious and motivated post-doctoral scientist to become an integral part of the Liver Regeneration and Tissue Engineering group and Liver Immunology group at the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology (RW-IoH). Do you have the passion to explore the frontiers of knowledge in cancer immunology and extracellular matrix (ECM) research?

As a key team member you will spearhead a groundbreaking project exploring immunomodulatory properties of the extracellular matrix in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other liver cancers. Responsibilities will include day-to-day management and coordination of this project, focusing on the intricate cross-talk between immune cells and specific ECM-associated proteins. By delving into the immunomodulatory properties of cancer ECM proteins, your work aims to unravel how the ECM shields tumours from the immune system and can regulate local responses to immunotherapies, such as checkpoint receptors.

We Are Looking For:

  • An enthusiastic and motivated post-doctoral scientist.
  • Strong background and experience in cancer immunology, preferably expertise in working with human samples.
  • Knowledge of liver immunology advantageous, along with an interest in ECM research.
  • Good publication record.

Your Impact:

You will be pivotal in performing and driving forward this research project: data collection and analysis, literature review, manuscript preparation for high-impact publications. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to showcase your findings at internal and external scientific meetings/conferences. Acting as mentor and supervisor, you will also guide and inspire junior members of the research team and visiting students.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a vibrant research community with access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.
  • Collaborate with leading experts in liver research at RW-IoH and King's College London.
  • Contribute to cutting-edge projects focused on Liver Cell Injury and Repair, spanning various areas such as viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver tissue engineering, and more.
  • Leap into a world of groundbreaking liver research and be at the forefront of discoveries to reshape the future of cancer treatment.

Apply now and join us in our mission to deliver research that has tangible benefits for patients with liver disease.
