About the Role

The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint an experienced Programmes Administrator to support a complex range of programmes and courses, that include Language Learning, Year Abroad, Pre-sessional, In-sessional, Foundation, BA, MA and PhD degrees. This is a key role, involving involve significant contact with students, academic and professional staff across various Queen Mary departments and Schools. This is a fixed-term post available as a maternity cover.

You will be part of a team which proactively manages all administrative processes relating to student data within the School, providing reports as required for internal and statutory purposes, and providing advice and guidance to students and advisors about School and University policies and procedures.

About You

You must hold a degree or equivalent experience. Experience of administering teaching activities within Higher Education is essential, as is experience of ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. 

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and a high level of accuracy in your work. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and to use your strong interpersonal skills to deal professionally with people at all levels.

The post is based in Mile End Campus, London. It is fixed term (maternity cover) and part-time (28 hours p/w), with a start date of 2nd April 2024 to 31st March 2025. The salary will be Grade 4, ranging from £38,165 - £40,223 (pro rata) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

It is expected that the successful candidate will hold it for the full period. However, should the post-holder on maternity exercise her right to return earlier, then this appointment will be terminated, subject to a notice period of one month.
