We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified mental health professional to take an integral role in our objective to support staff mental health within the workplace.

We have recently been awarded the Student Minds Mental Health Charter award and launched our One University Mental Health Strategy and Action plan in February of this year. As a university, we seek to empower staff to manage their own mental health and wellbeing whilst also providing a route of dedicated support to staff where needed. The Staff Mental Health Adviser role is instrumental in helping us to achieve our objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified mental health practitioner, able to apply your skills and experience in a work context. You will be focused on collaborative practical solutions with an ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to arrive at the best outcomes for staff.

Primarily, the role will be to provide efficient and effective triage, coordination and support for staff mental health needs, utilising resources and expertise available from both within the University and specialist external organisations and support services. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of an inclusive working environment and workplace culture, in which mental health is openly discussed and supported.

As an internal expert, you will provide guidance and advice to line managers and HR colleagues on the management of mental health needs.

This is an exciting time to join the University of Sheffield. Staff Wellbeing and Mental Health is a key priority of the One University Pillar of our University Vision and Strategic Plan.
