About the Role
The Lecturer will contribute to the intellectual life of the School and wider institution and to the Centre for Condensed Matter Physics. They will make contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject areas of physics and artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.
About You
You should have a PhD in Physics, or a related subject, with an appropriate track-record of high-quality research. It is essential that you have clear and ambitious plans for your future research and can develop research proposals and effectively manage subsequent awards.
You should have teaching experience, and should be able to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and/or the Department of Chemistry.
About the School
The School of Physical and Chemical Sciences consists of the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Chemistry. It is one of five schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The School is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to over 530 undergraduate students, 70 postgraduate taught students, and 130 teaching and research staff. Our research is highly collaborative, working with colleagues across all three faculties and supported by partnerships with industry, NHS and other stakeholders.
