The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus. We are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2024 and beyond! We have just launched a pilot for a four-day working week and later this year we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.

Our HR department is a close-knit, generalist team with a focus on attracting and retaining high-calibre staff committed to delivering outstanding teaching, learning, and support to our students.

As an Human Resources Adviser, you will play a vital role in supporting academic and professional colleagues with a broad range of employment-related issues. Your responsibilities include providing employment advice, supporting employee relations, designing and delivering training, and actively supporting recruitment and selection. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to lead various HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement.

To excel in this role, you should have CIPD membership at Associate level, coupled with relevant HR experience in higher or further education. We seek an individual with extensive generalist experience in providing first-line HR advice, handling sometimes complex workplace investigations, and navigating organisational change. As a critical thinker, you'll leverage data to support decision-making and drive improvements, enhancing our HR function.
