Lecturer Salary: Grade 8 from: £44,240 to £56,903 with potential to progress to £63,706 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution (inclusive of London Weighting)

Senior Lecturer Salary: Grade 10 from £61,929 to £67,422 with potential to progress to £71,365 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution (inclusive of London Weighting)

We are seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time lecturer/senior lecturer to work within the Department of Education which has a committed, vibrant, and forward-looking team that provides high-quality, principled and innovative Education.

We are seeking applicants who can contribute to our continuum of course provision: BA Education, PGCE with recommendation for QTS, MA in Education, Professional Doctorate (EdDoc) and PhD in Education. Our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) PGCE provision is in Primary and the Secondary subjects of English, Mathematics, Physical Education and the Sciences.

The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of planning, teaching, assessment and student support, recruitment and course administration, the supervision of students and doctoral researchers at all levels. Successful applicants will have a doctorate, be research active and contribute proactively to the culture of research and scholarly in the department. Those wishing to contribute to ITE will have Qualified Teacher Status, experience of teaching in primary or secondary schools in England, and ITE in either university or school-based settings. They will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, childcare disqualification regulations and Teacher Prohibition Order checks.

The application should include a CV and a letter of application addressing the job description and specification, stating which aspects of the Department’s taught provision applicants can contribute to, with explicit reference to qualifications and experience. Each of these documents must be no longer than two sides of A4.
