Job Details

We are seeking a Education Strategy Officer to manage a number of key workstreams within our Academic Registry team. You will support the Education teams to deliver new and ongoing elements of our Education Strategy, including building and maintaining successful academic partnerships, implementing enhancements to the ICR’s education provision and employability initiatives - using data to inform these, and conducting reviews of educational policy and process.

This new role would suit a self-starter with an interest in policy development and delivering outcomes which support strategic goals. The successful applicant would have exposure to a number of varied workstreams involving interaction with a wide range of stakeholders from students to senior academics internally and at partner institutions. The post holder will be an integral part of the Registry team and will be required to work closely with colleagues across Academic Services and the ICR.

Currently hybrid working: 2 days per week on-site in either Chelsea or Sutton (or both). Occasional travel to the alternative site will be required. Part-time or flexible hours may be considered.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have an undergraduate degree, or significant experience of working in a university environment, as well as an understanding of postgraduate education and the higher education environment. They must be an excellent communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills, working with tact and diplomacy to draw consensus and maintain momentum whilst involving academics and senior administrators from multiple organisations. They will also be able to summarise complex information and data succinctly and clearly to senior colleagues. The right candidate would also need the ability to think strategically; connecting policy and strategy to proposals for workable systems and process developments.

Department/Directorate Information

The Registry team provides administrative support and policy expertise for the operation of the ICR’s postgraduate degree programmes, and for clinical research training posts. We also lead on the enhancement of the student experience and the management of strategic education collaborations.

The role of the broader Academic Services directorate is to create an efficient and effective environment for the ICR’s scientific community to flourish. Our services underpin both research and education at the ICR.
