About us

The new National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Policy Research Unit (PRU) in Reproductive Health is a £3 million research investment over 3 years whose purpose is to produce high quality research evidence to inform policy about health, care and public health systems for reproductive health in England. We work closely with colleagues at the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and other government departments. It is led by UCL but is a multi-partner collaboration involving senior academics from Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, Warwick, LSHTM and Hywel Dda University Health Board. It has a focus on addressing health inequalities and working in a co-produced way with people the work impacts.

About the role

The post holder assist the PRU Co-Directors, project leads and theme leads in conducting policy-related research in reproductive health. They will work on their own initiative and as part of a team, with opportunities to develop and lead projects of personal interest in line with the specified research programme. Salary range is UCL Grade 7; £37,099- £41,732+ LW (£5,000) per annum. This role is an open-ended contract with an initial funding end date of 31 December 2026. This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. About you

You must have a PhD (or equivalent) and experience of qualitative and quantitative research in reproductive health or womens health, with proven ability and commitment to carrying out high quality original research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals and ablity to work productively and collaborative in multidisciplinary teams across organisations. You will be supported to develop a career and training plan and to take advantage of the UCL environment.
