About the Department

The Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions (MSRA) directorate delivers a professional and responsive service to the University to ensure that student number targets are met by recruiting and admitting well-qualified applicants. This includes development and delivery of exciting marketing campaigns to communicate the values of SOAS and the benefits of studying here, processing applications in an efficient way, and developing ambitious student recruitment strategies for the UK, EU and International markets.

About the Role

The Deputy Director of Student Recruitment leads, develops and manages the delivery of the University’s UK and International Student recruitment and conversion activities.  The role holder will manage the team to ensure that recruitment strategies and activities are aligned to effectively support the achievement of student recruitment targets at all levels and for all modes of study.

The role holder will plan and report on recruitment and conversion activities and work in close partnership with the Deputy Director of Marketing and Heads of Admissions. The role holder will plan and oversee the delivery of engaging student recruitment plans for the UK, EU and International markets. The aim is to achieve growth across all levels and groups as part of the ambitious five-year strategic plan.

The Deputy Director of Student Recruitment also has strategic responsibility of the Study Abroad unit, supported by the Head of Study Abroad, reshaping all our student abroad practices to meet the needs of our students, to aid the recruitment of prospective students, and to maintain and develop our relationships with 100+ partners institutions internationally.
