The post holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation, commissioning, management, and operation of the University’s new alpha radionuclide laboratory capability, including assisting development of protocols, procedures and systems for the transport, storage and safe handling of alpha bearing materials to support research activities within an academic facility. The person appointed will report to the Nuclear Compliance Team - Safety Lead and will work in the newly formed Nuclear Compliance core team, comprising the NLCM; Safety, Security, and Environmental leads; and Project Co-Ordinator, and with the associated Academic and Technical teams.
The post holder will support the Safety Lead in discharging the University’s obligations under Health and Safety Regulations, Environmental Permitting Regulations, and associated regulations. The post holder will support smooth implementation of Environmental and Radiological Safety compliance of work within the University as required.
