Marketing & Recruitment Officer

Join Birkbeck, University of London, in a dynamic and rewarding role as a Marketing and Recruitment Officer. This role is integral to the promotion of Birkbeck's unique proposition, helping us meet our student recruitment targets and secure the future of our undergraduate recruitment. This is a 12-month maternity cover position.

As part of an established and effective team within Birkbeck's Marketing and External Relations Department, this role has responsibility for promoting and recruiting students to our unique degree courses, which are taught in the evening.

As a Marketing and Recruitment Officer, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of our Marketing and Recruitment strategy.
• Providing a marketing service to the academic school(s), developing and implementing tactical omnichannel marketing plans.
• Planning and coordinating the delivery of a range of marketing campaigns and activities, including CRM and social media.
• Writing, re-writing and editing content for the prospective student website and producing content for social and digital channels.
• Organising and consulting with faculties and schools across the University to provide support for marketing and recruitment activities, events and fairs.

The ideal candidate for the Marketing and Recruitment Officer role should have:

• Excellent understanding of undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment issues and practice in the UK Higher Education Sector as well as a good understanding of the UCAS application process.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and how to use them effectively.
• Understanding of current marketing principles/experience working in a marketing role in a busy environment.
• Ability to cultivate good relationships and build internal and external networks, and promote the team.

Remuneration

£32,962 rising to £37,143 per annum. Grade 5 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
