We are looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics.
The Opportunity:
The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within its Management Science & Business Economics Subject Group. We are seeking highly competent teachers and researchers with a strong publication trajectory (for appointment at both the Lecturer and the Senior Lecturer levels) and a sustained publication record (for the Senior Lecturer), who could make a significant contribution to the Group’s activities in the area of Business Analytics. Specifically, we are looking for candidates with skills appropriate to the delivery of on-campus and online courses across UG, PGT and MBA levels in the field of Business Analytics, and to pursue research in a related area.
Applicants with a strong research background in all areas of Operations Research & Management Science are welcome. The group currently needs to build teaching capacity in Predictive and AI Analytics (e.g. Media & Web Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, Credit Analytics). The successful candidate is expected to fill the teaching needs of our MSc programmes in Analytics: MSc in Business Analytics, MSc in Data and Decision Analytics - online, and MSc in Banking Innovation and Risk Analytics; hence we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with relevant teaching expertise, ideally also in the context of online delivery.
Willingness and ability to take on managerial and administrative duties, such as leadership of degree programmes, is highly sought. This is a full-time, open-ended appointment.
Research interests of the Management Science & Business Economics group comprise a highly diversified portfolio of methodologies in Business Analytics. The group research focuses on the development of innovative methodologies and frameworks to analyse issues of importance to business and policy decision-making, with a particular focus on the management and understanding of risk. International, inter-disciplinary, and industrial collaborations are central to the group's approach.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
