The Role
Forming part of a close working senior management team, utilise inclusive, proactive leadership with a deep understanding of the relationship between academic study and student wellbeing, you will provide line management to some of the Student Wellbeing Adviser Team, actioning key personnel duties. You will play a key part within the case management escalation process to provide support to colleagues who are working with students experiencing a wide range of issues impacting their wellbeing.
The Student Wellbeing Advisers act as an initial point of contact for students and School based colleagues across the University and play a vital role in connecting central Student Health and Wellbeing Services with the wider University community.
The team offers confidential support and signposting for students experiencing any wellbeing related issue, as well as guidance to university colleagues. They also collaborate closely with School colleagues to deliver proactive activities and events to support students with improving and maintaining their wellbeing.
Alongside this, you will collaborate with colleagues to lead some SHWS Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) activities across the institution, via training and policy development.
A DBS check is required for this post. The post may require occasional out of hours actions to support students and colleagues in dealing with difficult and crisis situations.
This vital leadership role would suit a candidate with experience of working in dynamic and fast-paced settings with a contemporary understanding of the educational context.
