Applications are invited for the post of Reader Services Librarian at Queens' College Library. Responsibilities include deputising, as required, for the Librarian and the day-to-day running of the student library. The Reader Services Librarian assists the Librarian in developing and promoting a highly proactive library and information service that successfully plays its part in realising the College’s overall teaching and research objectives.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and possess a professional library qualification together with a keen interest in information skills teaching, and knowledge of e-resource provision, cataloguing and library management systems. The post calls for initiative, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, easily able to prioritise workloads, able to delegate effectively and demonstrate previous experience of working in an academic library.

Hours of Work: Full time, 36.5 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays (actual working hours to be agreed)

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Salary: £35,186.46 - £35,701.38 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
  • Hours of work: 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Final Salary Pension Scheme after the qualifying period
  • 26 days’ holiday, in addition to public holidays (34 in total)
