We are seeking to appoint a clinical academic in Cardiology, who will make a critical contribution to shaping clinical and translational research in the Division of Clinical Medicine within the School of Medicine & Population Health at the University of Sheffield. The role will encompass research, teaching and leadership in the field of Cardiovascular Medicine, particularly clinical trials in atherothrombosis. Important facets of the portfolio include the ability to nurture and support researchers across all career stages, and fostering translational research and links to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH). The post-holder should be prepared to provide support to academic leadership in the School of Medicine and Population Health and the NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
The appointee will be an honorary consultant within the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Directorate of STH. The cardiology service provides local and tertiary care services, including extensive facilities for the management of coronary artery disease.
