The opportunity
We are looking for a talented educator and innovator to assume responsibility for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the Communications and Media programme at London College of Communication (LCC).
Based in the Media School, the Communications and Media programme consists of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Advertising, Media Communications, Contemporary Media Cultures and Public Relations. We have a commitment to ensuring a high-quality advertising education for our students and you will play a pivotal role in helping us to achieve this.
As a Lecturer, you will undertake teaching, assessment and scholarly activities that seek to enhance our students’ educational experience and outcomes. You will also be responsible for a year group of undergraduate students’ pastoral support, progress and attendance, maintaining records and liaising with colleagues as appropriate.
Working closely with the course team, you will deploy specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions, expanding the capacity of the course design to enhance the teaching of creative skills.
About you
We welcome candidates with both educational and/or industry experience to join our team of academics, creatives and practitioners.
The role requires a focus on one or more of the following: a strong understanding of copywriting skills; a strong understanding of art direction skills; industry experience in an advertising agency or as an in-house brand specialist or a strong research background in creative advertising; experience with digital advertising and online promotion; social media influencers; social media analytics.
You will bring an advanced knowledge of your subject area and will hold a qualification in a relevant discipline at least to postgraduate level.
