About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and technically experienced individual to join our Space Management Team. You will join an experienced team that maintains a comprehensive database of buildings across our vast estate. We manage a range of delivered projects in BIM and develop the processes through to operational teams. Imperial is a World class university and the Property Division is tasked with building and maintaining spaces that enable collaboration, discovery, and empower our people to undertake world-changing research.
What you would be doing
The principal responsibility of the role is maintaining Imperial’s master space database of all drawings, models & associated data. Reporting to the Building Information Manager to assist with the processes and compliance in relation to BIM, to control and distribute documentation & data in accordance with the requirements of the wider organisation.
The role of Building Information Co-ordinator includes providing detailed space effective design layouts both in 3D and 2D incorporating items such as demolitions, partitions, furniture, equipment and services taking building regulations and Fire Officer requirements into consideration. You should be able to independently undertake site measured and digital surveys to incorporate minor work changes and correct historical inaccuracies. Compliance review As built information delivered from major & minor projects works, and distribute and use information to continue to develop the handover of information at Imperial. Your role will be exposed to new technologies and software’s involved in the continued Digital pathway we are adopting within the Property Division. BIM and digital twin development are key integrations within our growing team.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of Autodesk products to include Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks. Experience with CAFM systems, design and internal space planning of premises is required. A Knowledge of the building industry generally, particularly BIM is beneficial. Previous experience in Architectural drawing is essential and M&E services drawings would be desirable. You should have proven computer skills including a good understanding of spreadsheets, databases, data searching and experienced in using a CDE.
