The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security and Campus Safety Officer to join the University of Bristol’s Security Services team with a starting salary of £30,218 rising to £33,895 (inclusive of a 25% Rotating Shift Allowance).
A range of professional, security related training is provided. The role is a fundamental part of the University community and provides reassurance to staff, students, and visitors alike.
What will you be doing?
You will be part of an Operational Security Team providing a service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that includes the following areas:
You will work as part of a team of uniformed, well trained, professional Security and Campus Safety Officers working on a rotational 12-hour shift pattern working an average 35 hours per week over a 12-month period.
The roster pattern is 11-hour shifts (plus 1-hour unpaid meal relief) comprising of 2 days and 2 nights followed by 4 days off (4 on duty / 4 off duty). The core shifts are: 0600 – 1800 (days) / 1800 – 0600 (nights).

An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license is desirable for this role; however, we will readily accept non-SIA applications from candidates with transferable skills in areas such as Customer Service or who are interested in pursuing a security career. Full training and support will be provided to obtain the necessary licencing for this role.
