The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate to assist with the delivery of core modules. The Department is part of the Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), which is the most research-intensive business school in the UK (REF 2021). With around fifty staff from more than 15 countries, the department provides an international, collegial, and dynamic research environment in which to develop and launch a research career.
The post of Teaching Associate provides PhD graduates, or those nearing completion, the opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience and to polish their research for publication and launch themselves on to the academic job market. To this end, the position provides an opportunity for career development. You will undertake teaching, marking, module direction and academic administrative activities within the department, mainly through undergraduate seminar and lab activities. Teaching activities are likely to be in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods although some participation in more specialised courses may be possible.
