Background
The Careers & Employability Directorate is pivotal in supporting City to deliver a student experience that combines academic excellence with a focus on employability. This role sits within the Careers Consultants team and City is in an exciting period of growth for employability learning and is embedding career focus learning and professional experience across the curriculum so that every undergraduate is career ready.
Responsibilities
This is a permanent part-time role (21 hours per week) for a generalist Careers Consultant which means you will work on central activities such as one to one guidance and group delivery to students from all disciplines, at all levels.
This Careers Consultant post will have a crucial role in designing and delivering career focus learning in existing academic modules and engaging with academic stakeholders. You will enjoy implementing a pedagogical approach to employability, often delivering lectures to large numbers of students and applying learning design principles to your delivery.
Person Specification
We welcome applications from candidates experienced in careers advisory roles or career changers who can demonstrate the relevant skills outlined in the job description. You will possess a degree and ideally a postgraduate qualification in careers guidance or a related discipline. You will have a good understanding of the UK graduate labour market and have substantive work experience relevant to our students’ interests.
