The Department of Computing is a well-established and dynamic area within Roehampton University and is making a reputation for itself in delivering outstanding education and research.
Regionally and nationally, we are growing our Cyber Security profile. Our BSc Cyber Security programme is recognised by the UK Government through the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) certified degrees programme. We launched our new MSc Cyber Security programme in September 2023, and our ambition is to become the recognised cyber security centre in south-west London.
To help us achieve our ambition we are looking for people to join the academic team who are passionate about computing and the next generation of graduates. If you are a current academic, a recent PhD graduate or looking to make the switch from industry to education we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience in various areas of Cyber Security, including digital forensics, networking, and security testing. Experience in the secure software lifecycle and secure application development would also be desirable.
We have experienced extremely strong growth across all areas of our educational provision and now have the fastest growing student intake at Roehampton. We deliver courses and are experienced researchers across the breadth of Computing, including in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Games Programming, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. We have grown due to doing things differently, priding ourselves in an innovative mindset. We continuously drive forward new ideas and are looking to grow even further with a range of new future courses planned.
Throughout our work in the Computing field, we recognise and advocate for diversity, both in our educational design, the research we do and in the workplace of our future graduates. We strive for and action in all our course design and the outreach of our academics, greater representation of women in computing and other underrepresented groups.
We are looking for candidates who want to be part of a supportive and collegiate team. You must be highly motivated, passionate about education and be able to initiate and develop ideas and opportunities in teaching, learning, and research.
We expect the successful candidate to strengthen collaborations with other disciplines within the university and with external stakeholders. They should be able to provide evidence of previous successful collaborations.
We are London’s Campus University, based on a beautiful 54-acre parkland campus. This short video will give you a taste of life at our wonderful campus and its excellent facilities.
Academic staff have access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. Our full range of benefits are available here.
