We have an opportunity for a Research Assistant to contribute to the project: Behavioural activation for depression in adults with severe learning disabilities. A feasibility randomised controlled study of behavioural activation with treatment as usual (TAU) vs TAU alone.
People with more severe learning disabilities face significant health inequalities and there has been an absence of work concerning psychological therapies for this group.
The successful candidate will be working with Andrew Jahoda.
The postholder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow. Specifically, the post holder would require to have expert knowledge of social science, psychological therapies and applied research. The post holder should also have some experience of working with people with learning disabilities in a research or service setting.
This post is part time (28 hours per week) and has funding available for up to 24 months.
