A bit about Timetabling & Examinations
The Timetabling & Examinations team is a busy team whose core focus and responsibility are the management and delivery of the academic timetable and the arrangement and co-ordination of examinations for the University.
Alongside business as usual and project activity supporting key elements of the Education and Employability Strategy, we are about to embark on a critical transition to a new timetabling system over the next 12-18 months, a significant challenge but one which provides the opportunity to further enhance the timetable product and the offer to our staff and students.
So, what will the role involve?
We’re looking to recruit a Timetabling Officer to join our team as exams lead to coordinate the logistical aspects of written exam delivery.
Working in partnership with team colleagues and in collaboration with School Exam teams and Timetable Leads to assess requirements for programme areas and identify solutions to effectively schedule activity to produce a high-quality timetable, meeting approved timetabling principles and customer expectations. They’ll have responsibility for all exam coordination, take a lead role in process improvement activity and support key project work as we transition to a new timetabling system.
We’re looking for a team player who are experienced in balancing a number of different priorities, has a keen eye for detail and are able to establish effective relationships and manage the needs of different stakeholders. They’ll have an analytical approach and a strong desire and commitment to continually improve service delivery.
If you thrive in a busy environment, embrace change and like a challenge, then we’d like to hear from you.
Collectively we want to improve and expand on the Universities approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). It will be part of this role to contribute towards creating an inclusive culture where all our students and staff recognise themselves in those that surround them and can bring their whole selves to the University.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact Rebecca Meller at r.meller@salford.ac.uk for an informal chat.
What’s in it for you?
However you identify, whatever your journey has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong!
