We have a great opportunity for an exceptional individual to join us as a Project Officer and work within a team to make a real difference to young people across the UK. You’ll be working for STEM Learning on the European Space Education Resources Office programme (ESERO-UK), which is funded by the UK Space Agency and European Space Agency. You will help to use the exciting context of space to engage teachers and young people through multiple activities.
The Role and Your Experience

You will be educated to degree level with substantial relevant project and contract management experience gained within a relevant environment. You may have experience in delivering programmes direct to young people, either through education or industry.
With excellent communication, prioritising and planning skills, candidates must have experience of working simultaneously on multiple projects, at different stages, with an ability to switch from one to another. The ability to write concise reports and proposals supported by excellent IT skills is required.
Projects may be employer, partner or stakeholder facing. You should be able to demonstrate examples of effective relationship management external to an organisation.
You will contribute to cross-cutting activities ensuring best practice contract and project management within STEM Learning. An appreciation and understanding of STEM education and/or working with the voluntary sector is desirable.
You will be part of a wider team of Project Officers, Project Coordinators, Programme Leads, and Managers – the engine room of our operations.

The National STEM Learning Centre & Network is a key UK resource for supporting STEM teaching and learning through provision of resources, on-line and physical networking, and partnership with a wide range of organisations and individuals. This includes driving forward on-going development of the STEM Ambassadors and STEM Clubs programmes alongside subject-specific support for all involved in teaching STEM subjects to young people.
ESERO-UK aims to use the context of space to open doors for young people by delivering engaging, world-class teaching in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Working alongside STEM Learning, ESERO-UK is able to provide influence, funding and services to improve the teaching of STEM subjects in schools and colleges and inspire young people through enrichment activities.
