The Astrophoria Foundation Year programme seeks to appoint a Course Lead for the Astrophoria Foundation Year Preparation for Undergraduate Studies (PUGS) course.
This role is equivalent to 0.3FTE and the post holder will have oversight of the PUGS course delivery and provide leadership and line management of the PUGS course academic team. The PUGS Course Lead will work closely with the AFY Course Leads (for the four AFY Courses in CEMS (Chemistry, Engineering and Materials Science); Humanities (Classics, English, History, Theology and a selection of associated joint courses); Law; PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics)) and the AFY Welfare Lead to be able to provide input to the design and co-ordination of the delivery of regular workshops and bespoke sessions ensuring that they provide timely support for students. The Course Lead will have oversight of assessments for Preparation for Undergraduate Studies course. The post holder will represent the AFY programme and the Preparation for Undergraduate Studies course as relevant across the collegiate University.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
