About the Role
The Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Quantitative Methods will contribute to the intellectual life of the School / Institute and wider institution. They will be involved in the NIHR Dementia and Neurodegeneration Policy Research Unit at Queen Mary (DeNPRU-QM) specifically contributing their knowledge in quantitative methods. They will also contribute to other projects within the Centre for Psychiatry and Mental Health.
About You
The candidate will have an MSc (for the Research Assistant role) or a PhD (for the Postdoctoral Research Assistant role) ideally in an area aligned with dementia, neurodegeneration or a similar subject. They will have a publication record appropriate to experience level. They will have experience and expertise in advanced quantitative data analysis, systematic reviews and knowledge of mixed methods research. The candidate will have the ability to work with large complex data sets and communicate complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience of health economics would be an advantage or a willingness to learn.

The Unit of Psychological Medicine is a part of the Centre for Psychiatry & Mental Health at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. It has a focus on academic discipline, research, the translation of research into public health strategies and their practical implementation – all dedicated to the reduction of disease and disability.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for one year, with an expected start date of 08.01.25. The starting salary will be Grade 4 sp 25 for the RA role or sp 29 with a PhD, in the range of £36,572 - £40,223 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
