Senior Communications and Events Officer (12 Month FTC)

UCL is a multi-disciplinary university with over 13,000 staff and 38,000 students. The UCL Faculty of Population Health Sciences is a global leader in public health research, working across disciplines to unravel complex health challenges, while educating the next generation of public and global health leaders.

This role is based within UCL Faculty of Population Health Sciences.

The Role:

This is a 12 month FTC or Secondment with potential extension.

Applications are open until 30th September. Applications may close early depending on numbers/suitability. Interviews are scheduled between 16th - 24th October (may vary).

You will play a key role in communicating the Faculty's vision/strategies and organising events.

You will work with the wider Faculty to develop and support communications strategies and programmes of initiatives which aim to:

• Raise the profile of our research and teaching activity
• Promote new educational programmes and support improved marketing of our expertise to a range of stakeholder groups
• Foster new research and teaching collaborations and partnerships;
• Generate and maintain key target audiences’ interest in and involvement with our activities

Key Areas Include:

• Developing communications strategy
• Organising events
• Working with colleagues to implement digital content plans
• Leading on production of media
• Developing website content
• Developing publicity materials
• Leading on socials
• Conducting market research

About You

You are experienced in marketing and communications and confident in developing comms and marketing strategies for large organisations, aligning with broader strategy. You will be skilled in engaging with leaders across a complex organisation to drive strategies forward. You should be confident working collaboratively at various levels both internally and with external stakeholders.

You will be curious about our work and able to demonstrate a passion for bringing this alive through developing and delivering quality marketing and events activities, communications and brand campaigns utilising cross channel marketing and CRM campaigns including offline, digital, and social media. You will be committed to helping lead and develop people and strategies, and will be fully committed to EDI principles.
