The Faculty of Engineering is seeking to appoint an organised and experienced Senior Learning Technologist to support academic and teaching colleagues in an expansion of online and distance learning provision including a growing portfolio of high quality online and blended degree programmes.
This is a maternity cover post for 12 months or more.

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking to appoint an organised and experienced Senior Learning Technologist to support academic and teaching colleagues in an expansion of online and distance learning provision including a growing portfolio of high quality online and blended degree programmes.
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Engineering Online Centre, the post holder will be a good communicator and will support and guide academic and professional services staff in creating, developing and delivering online classes. The successful candidate(s) will be educated to degree level or equivalent with some knowledge of principles of learning and teaching, especially in an online context. You will have knowledge of course design principles, as well as experience of working in an online environment and of developing activities and content for an online learning environment. The role requires close partnership working with academic colleagues, learning technologists, and other professional services colleagues throughout the University. You will have developed online learning activities and resources in a variety of formats, working independently and as part of a team. The role will have supervision responsibilities within the EOC team. You will have excellent communication and customer facing skills, working closely with other Learning Technologists, Video Production specialists and academic and teaching staff in the production of online, blended and distance learning courses.
The post is expected to start in December 2024. Providing maternity leave cover, it will be initially appointed Fixed Term for 12 months, with potential to extend.
