ARU is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence and recognition both nationally and internationally, recently being awarded University of the Year in 2023. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.
About the roles:
The recent introduction of our new School of Apprenticeships is an exciting development at ARU, demonstrating our commitment to becoming sector leading in the delivery of excellent apprenticeships. The School of Apprenticeships works alongside Faculties and relevant professional service colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality apprenticeships. Based in Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough, the School will oversee apprenticeship delivery across our entire portfolio.
Study Coach
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced skills coaches to join our team to support and develop apprentices through their Degree Apprenticeship journey, helping them gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to succeed. You will liaise with apprentices, employers and internal key contacts to develop our student-focused service, conducting regular reviews with students and their employers to measure progress and agree the way forward.
Educated to degree level or with relevant professional training and development experience within one of the Degree Apprenticeship fields above would be highly relevant preparation for success in this role. Likewise, experience of teaching in groups or tutoring and monitoring progress in other education settings would also prepare you well for success in this role. You will be highly customer-focused, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have experience of providing one-to-one study skills support progression, and experiences facing challenges and solving problems for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. We particularly welcome applicants from a healthcare, construction, engineering or management background.
Interviews are planned to take place on 30th July and 1st August 2024 in Chelmsford and Cambridge. Informal enquiries can be made to Ben Clawson, Apprenticeship Academic Delivery Manager at ben.clawson@aru.ac.uk or Katie Thwaites, Apprenticeship Academic Delivery Manager, at katie.thwaites@aru.ac.uk.
We have an agile working culture and offer an extensive range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package. Visit our benefits page for full details.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of our staff and students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants should be aware that ARU will carry out online searches as part of the due diligence on short listed candidates
