About the role:
This role supports research seeking to discover new knowledge with the aim of transforming the lives of people living with the most common type of arthritis, osteoarthritis. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Research Coordinator to join Dr Fiona Watt’s Osteoarthritis Research Group, to provide critical support to new and existing human research studies and trials to help drive our projects forward. This research focuses on those who have earlier stage osteoarthritis (or risk factors for this), understanding factors including protein markers that are associated with risk of progression of osteoarthritis over time. This knowledge is fundamental for successful translational work towards future clinical trials in the area, another focus for the group.
The role is supported by a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship and by Versus Arthritis funding.
What you would be doing:
You will carry out all aspects of preparing and applying for ethical applications and amendments for new and existing clinical studies, their initiation and management.
You will manage and maintain related research data, collaborating with others within our organisation and other organisations to support the research objectives, as part of collaborative and consortium working.
You will support the administrative aspects of participant visits and liaison with research sites. You will help monitor and support overall project progress, coordinating meetings with investigators and other stakeholders including the public to gain oversight and insight into our research findings.
What we are looking for:
You will have knowledge and proven track record in coordinating clinical research, including obtaining approvals for clinical studies/trials. You will have experience of GCP working, communicating with participants and research staff to collect, process and store clinical research data including databasing and data management.
You will have experience in organising meetings and workshops. Excellent communication, computing and advanced organisational skills are essential, as well as a meticulous approach with strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain records in a clear and organised fashion. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, planning, problem-solving and prioritising your own workload to meet deadlines.
What we can offer you:
