Birmingham Newman University is looking to recruit a Student Sport and Physical Activity Coordinator to deliver a sport and physical activity programme within the University and contribute to an exceptional student experience. The successful candidate will assist Birmingham Newman Sport and Fitness in increasing student recreational and competitive sports participation, promoting a range of sporting and physical activity opportunities to the University community.
The post holder will be responsible for the administrative duties for the student sports teams. The role will involve budget planning and working with the sports teams to plan and deliver fundraising events.
The successful applicant will possess A-Levels in a sport subject together with an NGB Sports Coaching or Sports Officiating Qualification. You will also have experience of sports facilities and services, the coordination of events and physical activity timetables and undertaking health and safety risk assessments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an organised approach to work, an understanding of University sport programmes and a passion for sport and physical activity is also essential.
The role will require availability on Wednesdays and a further weekday. A flexible working pattern will also be required as the post may require some evening work.
