We seek to appoint a new Professor in the field of product development to take the lead in bringing new technologies to society through focus on sustainable product design, user centred design, product’s service life and disposal, and the socio-technical challenges related to products.
With this professorship we want to enhance the research aim of the department to be leading in research within technology implementation through design and product development and product life cycle as a framework for implementation of new technologies.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen the department’s competences within technology implementation through design with focus on sustainable and industrial design, and product development with focus on the product service life and life cycle and integration of AI and smart technologies in products. Your expertise in product development will influence the department’s activities at two levels. At department level you will contribute with your expertise in product development in e.g. the field of power engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering. At section level, your expertise will drive our research agenda of sustainable design and sustainable products with perspectives of the product development phases and modelling with design drivers, e.g. user needs, stakeholder management, production processes, interfaces and data management, sustainability, digital potential etc.
